Hi Andra, thank you for your perspective. You equate design with city planning, but are there 'city designers' out there? There are city planners, urbanists, engineers, environmentalists, etc. who plan a city together. That focus is on infrastructure, architecture and (hopefully) social good. And there are many aspects of those urban 'systems' that change during between the time they were planned and when they were completed. So in my personal opinion, calling that 'systems design' in the designer (as in product or service designer) sense of the word is not an apt construct, especially since the people building those systems already have much better job titles, that rightly don't include the word 'design'.
